521. The Relation of the MC Sensor and Dynamometer Responses

ICIST 2013 Proceedings, 57-60
Stančin Sara, Đorđevic Srđan, Tomažič Sašo
Abstract: Natural motion of people is a complex process involving the entire psychophysical system. Its analysis contributes to a better and more comprehensive understanding of specific activities and behavior in general. The estimation of skeletal muscle tension during contraction is an important element in understanding human motion. A novel MC sensor that enables noninvasive in situ (examine the phenomenon exactly in place where it occurs) determination of the biomechanical, contractile and viscoelastic properties of all surface skeletal muscles, muscle parts, tendons and ligaments has been developed. With the MC sensor, muscle properties determination is achieved by measuring muscle force at the skin surface above the subject of measurement. The relationship between forces measured with the MC sensor and a dynamometer is nearly linear in static conditions. In this paper we show that this nearly linear relationship also holds when forces dynamically change in time during voluntary isometric contraction.

The results present a significant computational performance increase when using the NS-3 network simulator.

527. Evaluating network performance in mobile multimedia delivery

ICIST 2013 Proceedings, 85-90
Sladojević Srđan, Ćulibrk Dubravko, Mirković Milan, Panić Marko
Abstract: The paper proposes a framework for network performance evaluation in multimedia delivery to mobile devices. The proposed approach is based on logging the sequences of received packets during the transmission of H.264 coded video using the common Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP). Logged sequences enable the monitoring of the Quality of Service (QoS) provided to the user and subsequent reconstruction of impaired video sequences as they were presented to the user. We evaluated the proposed approach in three different, realistic multimedia delivery scenarios. The effects of such transmission conditions are explored based on a set of videos typically used to evaluate multimedia system performance. We further evaluate the system’s performance based on the number of successfully decoded frames.

Abstract: Machine to machine (M2M) technology is bringing benefits to humans, as well as the new market opportunities for M2M device manufacturers, service providers, and Telco operators. On the other hand, the deployment of M2M technologies is raising numerous challenges, in the first place those in security, which are not encountered in traditional communication networks, and therefore not answered yet. Due to the low cost and mass deployment nature of M2M devices and infrastructure developed so far for their support, security issues are not fully addressed by the existing wireless devices and standard cellular networks. An overview of new security challenges for M2M networks is given in this paper.

540. Semantic interoperability for dynamin product-service business ecosystems

ICIST 2013 Proceedings, 156-160
Zdravković Milan, Panetto Hervé, Trajanović Miroslav
Abstract: Dynamic Product-Service Business Ecosystems (DPSBEs) are collaborative forms that aim to handle product-service business actions in a business ecosystem by creating, sharing, using and reusing information across functional teams and enterprise boundaries. DPSBEs depend on the ability of their members’ information systems to interoperate. This ability is related to making their semantics explicit and formal, so information can be interpreted and managed both by humans and systems. In this position paper, we establish the scientific background for the semantic interoperability for dynamic product-service business ecosystems.
