Abstract: Knowledge-intensive business processes are
characterized by flexibility and dynamism. Traditional
business process modeling languages like UML Activity
Diagrams and BPMN are notoriously inadequate to model
such type of processes due to their rigidness. In 2014, the
OMG standard CMMN was introduced to support flexible
processes. This paper discusses the main benefits of CMMN
over BPMN. Furthermore, we investigate how context
information of process instances can be used in CMMN to
allow runtime flexibility during execution. The proposed
technique is illustrated by an example from the healthcare
domain. |
